Zara Phillips by Jack Vettriano
The BBC’s Sport Portraits programme gave a fascinating insight into how Jack Vettriano works. Vettriano started , in his normal way of working , by taking photos of Zara Phillips on a small compact camera. Zara rejected his idea of wearing jodhpurs for the session and Vettriano agreed with her without any argument . The first session did not satisfy him so he asked Zara for a second session. The final portrait shows Zara Phillips sitting on a chair draped in the Union Jack and it is reminiscent of Winter Light and Lavender. The picture is titled “The Olympian ” and it is being sold for Sport Relief . More details about buying the Zara Phillips painting are on the BBC website
